Emily is a quintessential British acting talent whose impressive career began on stage, joining the RSC in 1992. Emily’s numerous theatre credits include Sam Mendes’ Twelfth Night and in Uncle Vanya at the Donmar Warehouse, for which she was nominated for the 2003 Olivier Award for Best Actress. Her most notable screen credits include her debut film role as Bess McNeil in Breaking the Waves for which she was nominated for an Academy Award. She was also Oscar-nominated for her role as Jacqueline du Pré in Hilary and Jackie scooping up the British Independent Film Award for Best Actress. Her small-screen career has been equally successful: for her role in Chernobyl she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award. Most recently, Emily featured in TV series The Third Day and Too Close.
