Alex Jones
Alex is the co-host of the BBC’s flagship programme, The One Show that airs daily at 7pm Monday through Friday.
As a fluent Welsh speaker Alex began her career working for Welsh channel S4C where she presented a variety of shows. These included Tocyn, a stylised travel series offering alternative holidays; Chwa, a Welsh language extreme sport series; Salon a style and fashion programme and in 2010 she hosted The Big Welsh Concert.
In summer 2010 Alex landed The One Show role and she hasn’t looked back since. She presents the nationwide magazine show from London and has become a BBC1 face, also co-hosting the hugely popular Let’s Dance (for Comic and Sports Relief), The Jubilee Celebration Coverage and The Royal Wedding – all for BBC1.
Alex’s popularity grew further when she was a semi-finalist on Strictly Come Dancing 2011, which Alex says was ‘one of the best times of her life’. Another wonderful moment was where she danced at Buckingham Palace for The One Show.
2013 was another exciting year for Alex as she guest hosted programmes for Radio 2 as well as co-presenting their Glastonbury coverage. Along with Steve Jones she fronted another great series of Let’s Dance.
In 2014 Alex committed to a Sports Relief challenge in which she climbed 1200 ft up Moonlight Buttress – she slept on the side of the sheer rock face and even had her birthday on it as well. She raised an incredible £1, 231, 476 !
Summer 2014 saw Alex single-handedly host BBC1’S brand new prime time live entertainment show, Tumble.
